Something wrong with a mini? It's never anything else then the engine. It's a piece of shit. Timing tensioner will fair and break all the plastic bits. Then after you fix it it will blow up.

I had a stock ‘08 e88 135i auto and now I daily a FBO stage 2 JB4 ‘09 e88 135i 6MT. I do most of the work myself. I’ve had to work on it so much, and learn so much, that I decided to buy the second one since I basically already knew how to fix the whole engine 😂 To me, the drive is worth the elbow grease. However, if you aren’t up for doing the work or for throwing tons of money at it then it’s more of a nightmare than a dream

If you are going to continue to race regardless of track sanctioning, or just that they allow amateurs access to the track, as demonstrated in this video. Go to Jim Russell Racing School at Sears Point in Sanoma, CA. There is also Bob Bondurant I think he's in Vegas. Perhaps something at the indy track: It will significantly increase your confidence and skills, as well as remove bad habits or remove some errors being made. I am SCCA sanctioned and used to on a Formula Atlantic Racing Team, so I know what I'm talking about. I noticed a lack of control in your approach and line of sight in the chicane. You don't have a rollbar, wearing any fireproof clothing. It's not safe. I'm not being like I'm all this and that here, my ego is not affected ever, I dont usually give a fuck but I like your yt show and see that your real, so perhaps you'll let an old guy with over the top experience pass along some wisdom. Look, cars on tracks even with experienced drivers could potentially fuck up your whole world. And especially street racing is totally out of control and is killing people because they have too much horsepower and have not been properly trained to know how to react correctly when their car gets away from {them, you or the lookey loos and mascots}, and due to this lack of training their personal limits have not been established or practiced. It may not be you, some other idiot can hit you and then, your out. I'm very private and seek no attention, fortunately, I have been trained in professional motorsports sanctioned by SCCA. I have been a team member on offshore racing, circuts and have over 50 years of experience as an owner/USCG credentialed master mariner and Captain on large Superyachts in both Sail and Power, as well as commercial rescue, salvage, and offshore service vessels to 300 feet'. that supports our {USA} special forces and /or private contractors globally in a classified capacity. My dad saw that I did not show fear and would take risks since the age of 5. At that time he threw me in a small sailboat behind our bayfront home in Newport Beach CA, he said sink, swim, or sail you decide. After I was properly trained in yachting,. I earned the right to be the captain of our 57 foot sailing yacht. This is 1972 and the boat was 150K then {6 mil in todays $$$}and the largest fiberglass custom sailing yacht made in the world at that time. I would take my friends as a freshman in HS with chicks to Avalon in Catalina Island. Training, equals freedom, cause he trusts my capacity and risk assessment skillsets. He did me the same in private aircraft, motorcycles, and a bunch more cool shit. Listen, your not single and have kids so if your going to take risks, get trained first then you'll have the tools to mitigate potential injury and confidence in your equipment, personal standards, and to be objective in risk assessment, personal standards and limits in go, no go with confidence. Think old bull and young bull up on the hill, youngster makes a suggestion of running down to get that one female and old bull says, lets walk down and get em all.

Dude. Drop the tune to something rational, add LSD and tires. I can't count how many 135i builds I've seen on jacks at trackside debugging boost issues due to overtunes. Mine worked flawlessly for years at the stock (BMW add-on) 320bhp. Also, although I see coilovers in a previous video, I don't see any real camber adjustment - this car NEEDS it. Camber plates. Anyways, glad you sorted the blown pipe trackside and got an actual session to enjoy it!

Interesting tidbit... The Mini was supposed to have a Toyota Yaris 1.6 liter engine when it was being designed. I was working at Toyota's Belgium headquarters TMME in the 2000s and we were setting up the supply chain for the engine supply to the Mini. The engines were built in France. The deal fell through at the last minute and they went with a Chrysler-based engine. Wow. That tells you BMW didn't care about quality, they just cared about the price! Imagine if the MIni had had a Toyota engine?
Stéphane Duchesneau
Stéphane Duchesneau 2 місяці tagasi
The Ninja will never be out of a job. It's all really sad because I'm old enough to remember the 80's BMWs and they were among the best cars ever built. Like Volkswagen, they tried to be competitive the wrong way. Hiring incompetent people. Just look at the guy Volkswagen hired for buying materials in the 2000s. The guy bullied the existing suppliers until the suppliers didn't want to do business with Volkswagen anymore. I can only imagine what happened with the engineers at BMW.
